Prayers For Boston

Hello everyone,

Yesterday, a senseless, tragic and evil act occurred in the city of Boston. A city for a short time I called home as I attended Simmons College and I worked in for a few years. Because I lived there, I can tell you that Patriot's Day is a very special day for Bostonians, a day only they celebrate and it is uniquely theirs. It is a day for children, family and friends to enjoy the city, early baseball and the historic marathon.

Yesterday, this was taken away. Three people died including an eight year old boy, and over 140 are injured. Some severely. Patriot's Day will never be the same.

I am sick over this and my heart is aching. But what I will remember seeing will be the heroes that ran towards the explosions to help others. Sadly, so similar to what we saw here on Sept. 11, 2001 when firefighters ran into the towers to save the lives of others. I read this quote this morning and thought it was fitting.

“A coward is incapable of exhibiting love; it is the prerogative of the brave.”
― Mahatma Gandhi

Boston is a strong city and like New York it will recover. But please continue to pray for Boston and keep them in your thoughts.

God bless the families of those who lost their lives and those who were hurt. You will be in my heart forever.
