Jill Zarin's Favorite Holiday Activities in NYC

The holiday season is my favorite time in New York City! There are so many festive activities to do all over the city.

If you’re visiting NYC this holiday season, or are a local wanting to do something festive, check out my top activities to do to get in the holiday spirit!

Go ice skating at the Rockefeller Rink under the beautiful Christmas tree.

What a beautiful way to spend the night under the Rockerfeller tree. It’s such a festive area full of holiday cheer right by Fifth Avenue. Twirl around with your friends, family and loved ones and don’t forget to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate after!

Eat at world famous Rolf’s

Rolf’s is the best place to go any season because it’s Christmas all year round at this German eatery. Holiday decorations cover the ceiling, walls and floor - as far as the eye can see. The perfect Instagram spot!

See the holiday window displays

Every year the holiday windows across the city get better and better! Especially on Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf’s, Bloomingdales, Saks, to name a few, have the most fabulous and unique displays. I always look forward to see how they can beat last year.

Macy’s

Macy’s also does great window displays every year, but it’s also a great place to pick up decorations, gifts and any and all holiday treats! It’s also one of the most popular places in the city to meet Santa.

Visit Union Square Holiday market

Holiday markets are a great place to pick up special and thoughtful gifts. Away from brand names you can support local makers and artists and pick up one of a kind gifts.

Watch the New Years fireworks from the Brooklyn Bridge

It may be chilly but watching the fireworks from this view is a magical way to enter the new year. The fireworks reflection on the water with the view of Manhattan is breathtaking.
