Dear Lina,

Spring has arrived in New York City! Finally, and unofficially, it is here! It stays light a little longer everyday and everything starts to grow. My favorite time of year. Tonight is episode 3. We come back from our Summer vacations and everything starts to heat up. The first time I see Bethenny was actually the last “first” day of school for Allyson. I didn’t want to go to Jill Stuart’s fashion show and wanted to stay home and cry. When I say to Luann “I need you” that was the REAL reason. I love that it is edited and they cut various sentences to match what is seen. No hard, no fowl, but just thought I would share that. Everytime I see it now, I think of how sad I was that I was losing my baby. My first, my last , my everything is growning up and leaving the nest. Hence the “empty nest” syndrome is closing in on me. She is still waiting to hear from a few choice schools but we think she knows where she wants to end up. The good news it is relatively close to home so we will see her all the time , I hope.

Last night I posted on Facebook that I want to start and ASK JILL newsletter. Of course, feel free to ASK LISA or ASK GLORIA too! Our new book, Secrets of a Jewish Mother, is on sale at amazon.com and other book sites. If you pre order, send your receipt to jill@jillzarin.com and we will mail you an autographed postcard as a THANK YOU. The official release is April 15th and we will being on Book Tour for at least 2 weeks doing media and book signings. Please contact your local bookstore and ask for us to come!

Here we go!

Maria Szanyi

Jill, what’s your favorite fabric you sell and why?

I love to touch the velvets. They are so soft and luxurious. Silk Velvet Mohair is my favorite.

Amber Hoffman

What are you most proud of and why?

I know this may seem cliche..but my daughter is whom I am most proud of. Why..I think you see on TV.

Rhonda Chambers

What are the “must haves” that you carry in your purse Jill?

I carry a small bag with lip gloss, breath spray, perfume, $20 , compact powder

Louis Canales

Do you wish you could go back to pre housewives? Before the Drama – just being Jill.

Sometimes I do. I admit I don’t always like what I see. Is anyone perfect 365 days a year 24 hours in a day? And add a camera crew looking for the most salacious moments and you have great TV! But the rewards greatly outweigh any bad day I will ever have. Writing Secrets of a Jewish Mother with my sister and mother has to be the most proud accomplishment I have ever had. I have used the show to promote arthritis and this season Thyroid Cancer ( if it doesn’t get cut!). But the drama? I could do without!

PS . How is Bobby doing?
Thank you so much for asking. Bobby didn’t want to mention the cancer but decided to share his story to help others who might be afflicted with the same disease. I was a complete maniac this summer. He was sick and I felt helpless. My psychic is actually the one who told us Bobby had cancer. We filmed that on the show but sadly I think it didn’t make it. She is amazing and saved his life. I will be forever grateful to her.

Let me know if you like this format! I am not accepting comments anymore on jillzarin.com. It is too time consuming to read comments on Twitter, Facebook and here so I will continue to read Twitter and Facbook comments.

Enjoy the show. It’s on 10PM TONIGHT!!
Jill’s Make-Up Tips From Secrets of a Jewish Mother

You are what you wear. If in doubt, do not wear it. If you don’t feel good in your
clothing, you will radiate insecurity and others will notice.
· Always have double-sided fashion tape and scissors on hand to cut out tags, repair
falling hems and fix your bustline.
· For a fancy event, a watch should be a piece of jewelry. If you don’t have a dress
watch, just wear a bracelet.
· Shoes should be comfortable first, look good second. Platform shoes are great
because the arch isn’t that steep and it gives you the height you need.
· Buy good basics-they last. Then add accessories to change the look every season.
· Always use a good tailor. The fit makes all the difference.
