Does anyone remember the day of ” Dear Diary” ? So here we go…
Dear Diary,
It has been a while since I last wrote. It has been a very busy few weeks. I had an appearance at the JCC in Palm Beach Gardens last Thursday night. Since Ally had finished her midterms, Bobby and I took her with us. We always like to “kill 2 birds with one stone” and planned a visit with my parents too. I gouge myself on chocolate “non-fat” frozen yogurt at the country club. That is how I gained 6 pounds last trip. I am scared to get on the scale today. I will tomorrow.
The weather was warm but not crazy hot yet. I have ot say the shopping at PGA gardens is unbelieveable. Strip center heaven with the holiday lights still up. I wish I could have shopped all night. About 300 women came to meet me. I spoke for 2 hours and answered every audience question. Everyone went home with a postcard for our new book and did a meet and greet at the end. Gloria was the hit of the night but of course everyone got to meet Allyson and Bobby too. I felt very “at home” and am planning to do a lot of JCC appearances this year. If you would like me to come to your local JCC or other venue, please contact me. I sat at the pool all day Friday with an old friend and did one of those “catch up” things. I really miss her and need to do these more often.
We took the 6AM flight to Park City Saturday morning. We hired a driver named Robert but since his wife was in labor he hooked us up with a string of amazing drivers. Having a good driver in a city you have never been too gives you alot of security. We stayed at a relatively new hotel. The Waldorf. it was about 10 minutes away from downtown Park city. The Golden Door Spa is attached and we had a pamper package so each of us had one 50 min treatment. I got a facial. She was good…not the best. The best I have had recently was at the Wynn Encore. The only british woman there, so ask for her if you are going. My step son ran into Jon Gosselin at the Spa there. Isn’t that funny? We went to at least 10 gifting suites. A gifting suite is put together by a group of companies wanting to “gift” their product to Press and celebrities. They are alot of fun. Imagine going into a store and them saying to you take anything you want. Pretty cool right? My favorite was a ring by “Rebecca”, Emu’s , and a ConAir plastic pocketbook I can use at the beach. Honestly though, I haven’t finished unpacking and got so much great stuff.
I was at the festival for an appearance with the Creative Coalition to promote fighting Obesity for young people and how Hollywood can help. Ricki Lake, Tom Arnold, Rachel Hunter and I were there to bring attention to the event. I was just a guest but next time I want to be on the panel. I had alot to say but didn’t have enough time to get it out. Before we left town, we went to the Twitter event, HRC event for a new documentary, TAO to party and a concert with Robin Thicke.
We took the red eye last night so Ally could get to school on time. I am proud to say she made it. Now she is exhausted and yelling at me so I gotta go!
I missed you diary!

Dear Jill–
I’m one of your biggest fans and really really appreciate your mentioning HRC, which stands for the Human Rights Campaign http://www.hrc.org I know you have always voiced your support of the LGBT community and it IS noticed and loved. I’ll send you an invitation to our Dallas event, Black Tie Dinner, on November 6th, and maybe you and yours can come as my guests. It’s the largest HRC-related fundraiser in the US and one of the largest seated dinners in the South, if not the US. We benefit up to 21 local beneficiaries and the HRC Foundation, the educational arm of HRC, because God forbid we get political in Texas. I respect, love and admire you and your treatment and attitude on nearly everything. I say, “Hi, it’s Jill Zarin,” when I come home to my Labrador and that gets him most excited. LOL. Keep up all of your great work and inspiration. You are doing great things and I really look up to you!

Jill, I have watched HW since it started with the OC ladies. I am bored and disappointed since Gina left. I found her down to earth and refused to be sucked into the bad. I was bored with the OC Bimbo or wanna look like one to be interested or sympathetic. Quite frankly I hate train wrecks but this was inevitable.
I was intrigued that anyone in Manhattan would actually do this show, The cast of characters, sorry Ladies, is very interesting. At first I thought I would enjoy the Countess’ point of view. Sorry, I do reserve room for her but the 100/1 was you. You show yourself as a real person, I honestly don’t think there is anything housewife about you in the old fashioned sense. But giiirrrl you do rock at being respected and you make no excuses. Both your daughter and mother are inspirational and that you promote them front and center comes back to center that you will be the reason I watch any new sorry ass real housewife show in the future. I never write to any of these sites, but just in case, There is another strong woman out there who respects another one who happens to be on a reality show. Which, lets be honest is usually a joke. I find you refreshing and inspiring,
Thanks! If you want anyone in non-notarity to test any products you endorse - I’m available!! I happen to be a pasty Irish girl but I can dish with the best of ya’.

Jill, I saw your twitter asking about body shapers. I don’t tweet, so am answering here. There is a new line of amazing body shapers that shape tummy and upper arms. The website is squeezytees.com They were featured on tv with Kathy Lee Gifford and are available in several styles. They are either worn under or as actual tops. Check them out. Available at Macys in the near future I think. They are especially great for the flabby underarm area (not that you need help). Thanks, Sherri D.

It was great meeting you at the Conair Styling Suite during the Sundance Film Festival. We are so happy you and Ally enjoyed your time getting pampered and are thrilled that you love the Conair swag bag which included the Infiniti by Conair Cord-Keeper Dryer and Rusk styling liquids! Glad you made it home safe.
Very Best,
Stacey

Hi Vicki..actually the CC is the reason I was at Sundance. I was there to speak about Obesity with Ricki Lake, Rachel Hunter and Tom Arnold at a panel discussion on Hollywood and Obesity. Thank you for your concern! Jill

Jill,
Sounds like you had the time of your life. But you really need to
get on the board for the Creative Coalition to help fight obesity in
young people. Just walking around our local mall which is quite large,
I could not believe how heavy the young children were. Their parents,
of course, were extremely obese and not monitoring what their children
were eating at the food court. Everything from loaded cheese fries to
Cinnamon Rolls and Ice cream Cones. What are they going to look like
in High School Jill?
Where do you start if the parents don’t care? The school system?
My children are thankfully thin and healthy, but I worry about
the overweight children, especially in poor homes. Thanks for listening
Jill, and I pray you join the board so you and others can get started
to help these families.
Get some deserved rest,
Vicki
