OFFICIAL STATEMENT
Dear Friends and Family,
I’ve had four amazing years on The Real Housewives of New York City. I’m grateful for the experiences and friendships I’ve made on the show. I’ve certainly learned a lot about myself and others. The show has decided to take a different direction and unfortunately I will not be a part of Season five. I have received literally thousands of tweets, emails and Facebook comments from fans all over the world, from Australia to Alaska, and that has meant the world to me. More than you could ever know.
For all the people who have supported me and wished me well, you can see me on a new show that will be announced soon. I will also be making personal appearances around the country promoting my new line of shapewear and leggings called SKWEEZ COUTURE. Jill…loved you in the beginning…really love Bobby…but you really did get mean. The incident with Bethenny was the beginning of your end. Even on reality TV, the snide remarks and the back-stabbing can only take you so far. Amazed they kept the Countess..the 2 of you were simply insufferable last season. You two made it hard to watch. I wish you the best though…would like to see the old Jill Zarin again.

Bravo made a grave error on this one & it will show when the ratings & their following drops. I for one am done with RHONY & will be going from this post to their website to unlike. Jill…I am sooo upset to see U go! Thursday night was my fav. night, but now,??? You truly kept the show 2gether, it’s going to fall apart now!!! I’ve been home very sick from wrk., for the last several yrs., & every time Bravo, runs U marathon, I’m glued to the tv, like I’ve never seen it b4! My poor husband will come in from wrk, & I shh. him. He just lks,@ me, & shakes his head! You bought A lot of laughter into my life, so thank you, for that! I really HOPE Bravo would reconsider!

Never missed a show but probably won’t be following it anymore now that my fave 4 are gone. Ramona is an alcoholic, “The Countess” is a phony, Sonja was “enjoyable”.

I love you, Bobby, Aly your beloved parents and the whole fam. Best of luck in your future ventures. I will watch any new show you’re on and I am banning RHONYC. Done, done and done. Alex is an unattractive, social mountaineer and. A creepy famewhore, Sonja is a spectre of Mrs. Havisham; living in a world that once was (pathetic) and Ramona (who is continuing the abusive cycle set by her alchy father) is the biggest alcoholic bully going. Way to go Bravo! Trying to break up the Gorga/Guidice families on air for ratings, Pushing the Armstrongs off the cliff… You’ll stop at nothing for ratings and amassing money. By watching, I’d be facilitating you in all of this. I’m re-evaluating what I consider entertainment.

i must be honest, i think the “housewives” were losing steam already. i think you are getting out at just the right moment.
of all the women on the show, you were the only one i would ever truly want as a friend…mother…sister…daughter.
also, thank you so much for being a friend to the gay community. i always felt your support was sincere and honest…not forced. i felt some of the others were exploiting the gay rights platform to raise their own profiles. i felt one in particular would take credit for being gay friendly and then say homophobic things. yeah, that one.

All I can say is THANK YOU. I don’t think you truly know this but your four years on Housewives has brought so much joy and laughter to MY life and to MANY of my FRIENDS’ lives. Your show has been an ESCAPE for all of us…from our daily routines-our jobs, our studies, family commitments, our own personal drama. Everyone has pain in their life at one time or another but your show has allowed us to take our minds off these matters for even just a little bit at a time. I know the show hasn’t always been smooth sailing for you but please believe every second to have been worth it. You have brought happiness and entertainment to MILLIONS of people out there. Yes, it is just a television show. The best ones come and go. But Jill, for four seasons you have allowed us to laugh with you, cry with you, and just have plain old fun with you. Life isn’t always easy. It isn’t always fun. But your contributions to The Real Housewives of NYC made all of our lives just a little more enjoyable. A little more tolerable. You let us escape our own reality for an hour a week. Thank you and I look forward to meeting you one day.

They should have said goodbye to all the blondes, then it would have become a great show. You were the reason I liked the show. If they wanted to go a new direction…. they should have simply cleaned the WHOLE slate. Alex, Simon, Ramona and Sonya were complete fakes. LOVE you and Bobby. Luann was great (except for the singing). And really liked Cindy. Kelly was better, but still weird

To say that this news is totally shocking would be the understatement of the year. How in the world Bravo can let you go from the show, while keeping a Class-Free Dumpster Woman and Alcoholic, namely Ramona Singer, is a total mystery to me.
For the last 4 years you have always been a brilliant beacon of beauty, class, and intelligence. Your charity work, your willingness to forgive, and your attempts to get beyond all of the pettiness that these women constantly spew has been a true inspiration. Through it all you have retained your humility, your sense of humor and you have remained true to yourself, your friends and your family. That pretty much says it all.

I watched for you and Bethenney. Now that you’re both gone, there is no reason. I know Luanne is your friend, but I can’t believe, as rude and hypocritical as she is, that they are keeping her. Jill, I am very sorry to see you leave RHONY. I found you to be the intelligent voice on that show. Your comments were pithy and on point. From a distance, it looks as if you have a good life with a wonderful family – so you are blessed. Although I’m glad that the narcissistic pain Silex are going, it’s a pity that you are departing as well. You are certainly not on their lower level. From S-1, I thought you were central character of the show because you were the “connector” to the rest of the cast. (Even dull Alex said as much). It’s odd that you won’t be back. However, it’s Bravo’s foolish loss (they listened too much to Simon’s whines). There will be a vacancy that can’t be filled by bitchy RaMOANa. Best of luck in the future!

Whats the new direction? Real Housewives of New York….with out Real Housewives of New York? Sorry BRAVO..Sonja. Rimona, and the Countess dont cut it. Bethany and Jill were the only 2 who made the show worth watching. As someone who knows many REAL Housewives of New York, BRAVO has made a big mistake. While Jills life may have been a bit over the top, even by NY standatds, she was still the most real, and enjoyable ” character” on this make believe reality show. I wont be tuning in anymore. Its really a shame that the supposed producers have ruined what started our as an entertaining hour of television.
Good luck Jiill….maybe you can get your own show, like Bethany!

Well, this is a surprising turn of events. You were the glue of the show. Unfortunately, when Bethenny dumped you for bigger and better opportunities, your feelings were hurt and you lashed out. You ended up embarrassing yourself into a corner that you couldn’t get out of. Furthermore, you took to heart all of B’s fans’ comments and tried to change your behavior. There wasn’t much of a transformation other than your continued apologies. Too little, too late. I actually don’t think you should have changed. You were hurt by being slighted by Bethenny. You were entitled to your feelings. Bethenny’s hench-woman, Alex, should not have tried to change you. She wasn’t “all that” until she donned the roll of body guard to those castmates who didn’t really need her. Bravo’s decision to ax Kelly and Cindy was okay. They added very little to the show. Homely Alex and her nauseatingly cloying housemate, Simon should not have been cast. He was the master manipulator and she was his puppet! Being left with street drunk Ramona, her handmaiden Sonja leaves LuAnn off to the side, twisting in the wind. Hopefully, your friendship with LuAnn (off screen) will keep growing.

I will definitely try to watch your new show, as Bravo’s programmaing hasn’t been that appealing to me. RHOBH seems to be capitilizing on suicide, and substance abuse to garner ratings. Out of all honesty, these shows portray you ladies to be awful women, when it is far from the truth. I think it is the best for you to removed from this toxicitiy that Bravo supports.

Bravo is trying to make RHONY like RHOBH, but these two locations are distinct frome each other!! Also, look at the direction RHOBH is taking!! Personally, I don’t like to see issues such as major marital problems, domestic violence, and suicie via Taylor, and substance abuse problems via Kim Richards. It becomes too ‘real,’ and after viewing I am left with so much distress in my body because of what is on TV. RHONY was entertaining with YOU, even though there were too many fights on the show. As for the fights on the show, I know it is edited and producer induced. The fans are not stupid at all, BRAVO! May Andy Cohen realize his grave mistake very shortly, for he will deeply regret his decision to release the heart, soul, and Queen Bee from RHONY!! I most likely will not watch Season 5!!!

After a weekend of full blown depression and sadness, I wrapped myself in a blanket like a burritto and watched Seas. 1 2 and 3 of Housewives. At first, I found you a pain in the neck and really didn’t like you at all. But as the seasons progressed, I realized that you were my favourite. Your honesty and vulnerability shone through, through your mom, your daughter and your sister. I will really miss you from the Housewives and look forward to your own show.

As sad as it is that you have not been ‘asked back’ this is only THEIR opinion. You know deep down in your heart, that there are so many people that are affected by all that you do beyond that show. You are an inspiration to so many, one of the few ‘real people’ out there. Being on a show can’t give you the class you have. We’ve all made mistakes with our friendships and actions. The fact that yours was viewed by so many only makes you stronger, as the comments and slurs are multiplied. While I will miss seeing you ‘in action’ on this show, for those of us that are inspired by you, it doesn’t mean you will be gone. This will just be another door opening for the adventures life has in store for you. For us ‘members of the tribe’ we know that around this time, we wish for a good new year……..it will certainly be one for you!!!

Jill, in my opinion, they let you go because you are a stable, loving housewife. They left the train wrecks. Three story lines that represent an alcoholic, a former Morgan with little money,Simon and company – that don’t belong in you circle status. I am honest… and the FORMER Countess running around with a young boyfriend. You were too stable. You have a great family, friends, money, influence and Ginger….America wants a train wreck. You are not. Therefore, Jill they did you a favor. This too shall pass and you will look back and smile, maybe even laugh. Lastly, thank you for entertaining me. When RHONY first began you and Bethany were a riot. Together the two of you made the show. Then things changed when Luanne became your “keeper”. She is the reason you and Bethany never made up. If changes had been made then before everything got out of control you and Bethany would have remained friends which is more important than any show. May the road you travel bring you happiness and maybe a renewal of friendship with someone that is really truer than Luanne and Kelly. Best of luck and we will all be watching to see what is next.

Just finished watching season 3 here in Israel; it was real ugly to see Alex open her floodgates of hate on you, after holding on for three years so hypocritically as she apparently did; and Bethenny – just one word for her: ungrateful. Of all her tearing up he never said a plain “I’m sorry” to you, had always kept count. Some people are so full of themselves, they’ll hate you for helping them coz they hate to need help.
And Ramona, to send you away after inviting you as she did, is beyond contempt. Despicable behaviour. Shameful, honorless, in some cultures which value hospitality even beyond redress.
Truth is, you’ve broken into their little hate-Jill-fest, and they were suddenly busted. Kelly tried to stand up for you there, and they attacked her for that. All it was, was a power play on Bethenny’s part with Alex tagging along, suddenly so vicious and vigorous, full with and almost high on her bloodlust and hate for you so much, that it was revolting even. Sorry for the language, but that’s just how they made me feel.

I never thought I would be saying this but if you are not one of the Housewives of NYC, I will not be watching this season. I will however watch your show, of course.
I have always admired you even when everyone was beating you up. I am also a Jewish mother so I understand you.
Other than the Countess Luann, Cindy and everyones favorite model there is no reason to even watch Bravo. I never watched Bethenny and certainly won’t now.
And here I thought Andy Cohen was cool. Man, was I wrong.

Oh, I just read about this today. I want to scream – no way did they take a real housewife off the show and leave on a pair of divorcees. Hmmm… And that Ramona – always my very least favorite of the group. Well, it was more of a tie between Ramona and Alex – and what happened to that best girl group? I do like LuAnn but she is no where near as entertaining as you and your family. We’ll be watching for you in your new adventure. Hope it is far away from Bravo.

Jill I was stunned to hear that you were cut from the show. As my husband stated, (who by the way watched sometimes) that was a drastic move by the producers. I really think the ratings will be down considerably next season. You exemplified the class and wealth of New York elite. I wish you all the best…and not sure if I will watch the show next season…it just won’t be the same. Too sad.

I really am upset about Ramona’s comment about accusing you about going to AA (Alcoholics Anonymous)on TV! First of all I respect anyone who would attend these meetings for first either themself or thier family.And what bothers me is it is ANONYMOUS! How dare her! I wonder if she can be sued for that statment! Jill, I am so disappointed for disheartened to hear what has happened to you regarding the “Real Housewives of NY” show. If anybody should have been sent to the curb it should have been the drunken Mis Ramona, in my opinion. Showing her making SOOOO many bad choices and in questionable states of dress, undress, character, and lack of judgement with the drinking is beyond me! She was a walking advert for her pinot grigio and not a good one I might add. You deserve better. You were mistreated repeatedly, REPEATEDLY on that show! Yes, you are human and there are probably some things you would choose to do differently if there was a “do over” button in life. But you are REAL and I love you! There are not “do overs” just start where you are points. I wish you well. I heart aches for you, and I don’t even know you. As others have said, you are my favorite housewife of all time and I won’t be supporting the mess they are trying to pass off of YOUR show without you. Andy’s “watch What Happens” show titillates with the bizarre and sad parts of the show. I think that is the direction they are going to lean towards, sadly. Disappointed your no longer on the show. How could Bravo possibly think keeping Ramona is a good idea. I have no interest in seeing her or her crazy behavior anymore. You got a raw deal last year with Bethany and now its the Ramona pinot grigio show. Sadly the show will not do as well but on the other hand I wish you nothing but happiness and surely you will have peace and happiness not having to deal with that mess. We learn the most about who we are through the negative experiences we go though, Only if we are open to change, A real friend is someone who tells you everything you do not want to hear,someone who is not your genuine friend tells you everything you want to hear without you getting offended. Something I find amazing is that when it’s all said and done,negative issues concerning friends never have anything to do with them,it’s me that needs to work on me.

I have lost a lot of respect for Andy Cohen. How he could let you go for whatever reason while keeping Ramona is unbelievable. She is a train wreck. Yes, she can be funny and I think her and Sonya’s antics are what Andy likes on his shows compared to uncomfortable drama that has quadrupled since Alex “found her voice” — so I think he split the baby and got rid of Alex and you instead. I guess I am just down to the New Jersey HW because I can no longer stomach Tamra Barney so OC is ruined for me and without you NY is ruined. I hope your new line does well and every venture you have moving forward…and of course, your true emplty nest now that your lovely daughter has gone south!

Now I see no reason to see the show anymore… You Are truly a goodhearted person, and I am in shock by the fact that Ramona Singer is still on, she is INSANE!!! Am I in the dark? As a european I must have a total different view on things, since my absolute favourites Are you and LuAnn. Grrrr… This really pissed me off! If Americans in general prefers to watch Ramona’s crazy irratic ways …. Well, have fun. Again, you are a great lady, and I wish only the best for you and your family. I am very sad to see you leave the show. You have always been my favorite. However, you have been surrounded by way too much negativity from certain castmates. I’m sure I don’t have to mention names. You have a good heart & you should surround yourself with people who appreciate you, not people who bring you down. You know who you are & be proud of it. If people don’t like it, tough shit! It’s impossible to make everyone happy at the same time. Make yourself happy because no one else can do that for you. Jill, I have just recently began to watch the RHONY.. I love it and you and am really saddened to hear the recent news.. I still do not know if you and Betheny sorted things out.. I hope you have because out of all of the ladies you and her are real.. she always had your back as you did hers… Sometimes people let you down for the wrong reasons and that is really painful.. but I can see that Betheny really cares about you and your relationship. I think that Betheny was quite accurate in her assessment of some of the others. Kelly comes across as being a totally fake, shallow flirt and the Countess, whom I did like initially became increasingly two faced and bitchy, though I know she was having a tough time.. How can you leave the show?!?! You are the only normal person on the show. You have emotions, flaws, and logic. And not to mention beautiful! You have boundaries and you are daring. How is that not a cast member to stay on the real housewives? Now both my favorite characters are gone from the Real Housewives.. What is Bravo doing!!

I am so sorry to see you leave. Watching you on NY Housewives inspired me to book a trip to New York with a friend next June. I don’t think I will continue to watch the show without you as you seem like the only one in touch with the real world!

TV politics is just as disgusting as government politics! Why they would can the best and keep the worst I’ll never know, but most likely won’t be watching this season. Ramona and Sonja both just wear on my last nerve! lol I know you will be successful in your new ventures. I wish I had your savvy for mine. Blessings to you and your family.

Only started watching the programme a couple of months ago, but I am addicted! – we – in the UK – are watching 2009, so hopefully still have lots to see. But I am SO disappointed that you are leaving the show! You and Bethany are my favourites – just wish Ramona was leaving! I hope you and Bethany are friends again!

Dear Jill,
After watching the last 2 series u and Bethany are my fav housewives, i think were a while behind the US and do not know how your relationship is with Bethany but you 2 are wonderful people and really seem to get each other, friends fight and fall out but the sign of a true friend is someone who never stops trying to be your friend, i hope you guys sort it out and go back to the way you were! The people you are surrounding yourself with now are not true friends, luanne is a horrible self opinionated person who really needs to get of her high horse – FAKE!!! Kelly …. need i say more??? Ramona cracks me up shes a complete nut, but people who say it how it is .. you always know where you stand!
Im not sure ill bother to watch without you in it – your a gem and your beautiful family are lucky to have you and the work you do inspires us all, keep well and beautiful xxx

The show will not be the same without you . You are still being aired in the UK & series4 will DEFINATELY not be the same with out you. You were always the most generous and kind housewife , but you must think of this as a new beginning with the best yet to follow. hey jill.. i’m ally’s age and they’ve been playing all the seasons back to back over here in england…we’re on season three (or SERIES three as we say here..
at the moment and WHAT a crazy show…i love it.
you are my favourite by far; you’re just gorgeous and motherly and i love yours and bobby’s relationship! ally is beautiful too…i hope college is going well for her.
all the other women have had their ups and downs, but let’s be honest, they’re all complete nuts..you on the other hand have stayed true and down-to-earth the whole way through and i think you’re such a great role model.
i’ve never commented on a website like this before, and i sort of doubt you’ll see this, but if you do i hope it makes you smile..that was my intention. you’re great..big love for the Zarins! X

…and just for fun, my views on your (not-so-normal) castmembers: LUANN – it has to be said, i’m afraid, this lady NEEDS to get over her own title. you don’t even have titles in the US, and it’s all she can talk about…must be slightly annoying for you all? in england there are far more titled people around, but the majority of the time you wouldn’t know they were…it’s very vulgar to act the way she does..maybe we’re just very british and reserved, but i think luann could do with a little dose of that! RAMONA: she’s pretty funny, but has some odd ideas..and though she will NEVER admit it, she DOES have crazy eyes..they literally pop out. KELLY: at first i thought.. try-hard. she sounds idiotic in arguments..she makes NO sense and she seems pretty self-involved. but i think jill managed to bring out the best in her in season 3.. ALEX: i agree that her and simon were CREEPY initially, and her kids are brats..i’m sorry, but it really irritates me when parents think their kids are geniuses and they’re just.. not! but i do admire the way she handles all those fights, and tries to keep out of it all. finally, phew, BETHENNY: (i’ve only seen one episode with sonja so far in the uk..though i do think she looks a bit like meryl streep) very sharp, witty girl. i thought her and jill complemented each other beautifully, but with someone who has as sharp a tongue as she does, she was bound to end up alienating friends at some point. However, i do admire that these women HAVE revealed their true colours instead of being nicey nice all the time..no one is like that. Ultimately though, i think jill came across the best X

I wish you all the best going forward. I have to say I thought you were the one truly genuine housewife in the beginning but since the blow up with Bethanny you and “The Countess” have become almost unbearable to watch. It got to the point when you sent Bethanny an email telling her she should not have told anyone about her pregnancy and to keep it private that I actually shouted at you! You would under no circumstances speak to her and made it painfully clear you wanted nothing to do with her but then felt you had the right to tell her what to do about her own pregnancy? You didn’t even have the facts at that point that she hadn’t told anyone in the media other than the camera crew and her staff. You and your new best friend {who if you watched would see she suddenly clung to you and made sure she fuelled the fire with yourself and Bethany to keep you apart} have acted so selfish and childish it is hard to believe you are grown women. My three young children behave better. You only seem to see things according to yourself, if you don’t like something if it affects everyone has to listen to you and act in your accordance. If you watch the last series you will see what we have seen. I really hope you get your friendships back, take a step back and make amends. I think it is probably easy to get caught up in the whole housewives scene, hopefully you have your original life back you can breathe and become your own person again. The original Jill was a lovely housewife with a lovely personality and smile. Hope you get your smile back and feel better soon.

just wanted to say that i have just watch season 3&4, i’d just like to applaude you for not hitting Alex or Ramona for the way they treated you. At the time when Ramona got Bethenny over you were not in the right frame of mind to speak with her as you were still hurting and yes Bethenny didnt know how serious it was with Bobby and that may have been wrong on your part but hopefully the two of you through time will make it up. I think the show producers should have a look at the bulling they did to you at the end of season 3 they attacked you with the same questions and as for Ramona throwing you out of the villa i would never have spoke to her again and as for the fake panic attack that Alex had when she saw you PLEASE she got herself involved and enjoyed telling you that Bethenny was done with you that to me is bulling. Someone taking pleasure in someone elses misfortune.
The show will not be the same with you not in it as i found season 4 boring when you were away in OZZIE land.
I wish you and Bobby and the whole family the best for the future and as always Bobby is the perfect gentleman

I am both shocked and appalled by Bravo TV’s decision to not include Jill Zarin in the upcoming season of RHNYC. The message Bravo is sending its viewers is irresponsible at best – at worst…. well, let’s just hope viewers have the good sense to protect our impressionable teens from the warped “reality” that rewards people who are vile and malicious. Seriously!!!! Let’s look at the the end result……
1) Jill is an involved, devoted, and PRESENT mother. She has a great relationship with her daughter, is very involved in her child’s life, and sets a terrific example of how to put your role as a mother before your role as a “celebrity.” Conversely, let’s look at Ramona…..she is so far removed from her child’s life that her own child even tells her, on several occasions, that she (Ramona) is never home and that she feels as if she is “on her own.” Let’s not forget Ramona’s incessant need to compete with her daughter (my party is going to be better than Avery’s, people think we are sisters, I look so young). Seriously…..what parent invites her own guest list of friends to her daughter’s Sweet 16 Party!!!! When Bravo shows any “Avery” footage, it is always with Ramona taking full credit for Avery’s accomplishments.
2) Ramona is the most narcissistic, self absorbed, spiteful, manipulative, and horrid person that I have ever seen. Can Bravo really believe that Ramona is in any way a person “worth” the viewer’s time? Perhaps it is selective amnesia, perhaps it is the “train wreck that you can’t help but watch,” or perhaps it is yet one more example of the lack of moral compass….whatever the reason…..it is a sad day for this mom. I cannot believe the ridiculous and appalling actions of people like Ramona can be rewarded with renewed seasons while someone who carries herself in a way that sets an example of how a mother/housewife/lady should behave, as Jill does, is fired.
Can anyone honestly say that any part of your world is better after watching ANY clips of Ramona? I personally cannot believe that watching the train wreck that Ramona is can bring anything positive into the world other than the lessons of “what not be” and “how not to behave.” We have more than our fair share of the “depths of depravity” in the entertainment industry….. I refuse to believe that “Turtle Time” and the long list of Ramona’s antics are positive and/or worth another minute of my time. I will leave the brash, gaudy, trashy, and tasteless behaviors of Sonja to be the icing on my “Bravo” cake….Shame on you, Bravo…..you have chosen to highlight the worst of the worst. Would love to see the pilot for your follow up to RHNYC – “The Sad Aftermath….How Bravo TV’s Stamp of Approval Changed Our Definition of Parenting”…..wait, sorry for the blunder, it seems that the end results are already being broadcast….”16 & Pregnant” and “Jersey Shore”…….!!!!

Whoa what is Bravo thinking? I am really starting to think that the Real Housewives is not for me anymore. Jill, thanks for keeping it real and always showing class. I love you and Bobby and think its a real loss to see you go. I was so excited to see Simon and his wife taken off but I don’t think I want to watch the show next season. I was very sad to hear you would not be on the show any longer. You were my favorite. You are a strong woman and I know this will only be the beginning of more for you and your family. I look forward to see what other projects you will have. I hope to see you in North Carolina one day.
